2013 is well on its way!

Hello Hello! As the new year is well on it's way everyone begins to talk about their new years resolutions and their new goals. As a current Educator I strongly believe in developing goals and dreams, but never seem to write them down! Here is a new plan to start off the new year with a bang! (This technique would be great to use in a classroom.)

1. Write it down!!! Write down your goals so that they are physical and present in your life.
2. Find a box where you can keep your goals and dreams. Write each goal/dream on it's own piece of paper and put it in that box. Write the date on the bottom.
3. Believe in yourself, stay educated, and make time to achieve your goals!
4. With the proper preparation and mentality you WILL achieve your goals and dreams.
5. Once you have completed one, take it out of the box and write on it the date that it was completed. Post it somewhere in your living space where you can see it (or in a classroom; a wall of goals and dreams achieved). Your wall of dreams will expand which help you gain confidence to achieve more and more.

Last suggestion... while making these goals and dreams do not be afraid to DREAM BIG, but be careful to DREAM SMART. CIO Advisor Jon Castelhano describes a great acrynom that anyone can use when developing their goals and aspirations.

S - Specific (or Significant).
M - Measurable (or Meaningful).
A - Attainable (or Action-Oriented).
R - Relevant (or Rewarding).
T - Time-bound (or Trackable).

Do this now while you are thinking about it and good luck with the new year. Happy 2013!
